Tenements, closes and stairs
Much of the West End and Southside is sandstone tenements, and they're the main thing to plan for.
- The close and stair. Measure the close entrance, the narrowest width of the stair and the height at each turn. Stone stairs often turn sharply at the landings.
- Your flat door and hallway. Tenement flats often have long hallways with rooms off to the side. Measure the door into the room the sofa is going in.
- Top-floor flats. There's usually no lift, and that's fine: upstairs delivery is included. Just tell us which floor.
- Modern flats. In Finnieston, the Merchant City and by the river, let us know about lifts and entry systems.
Compare your measurements with the width, depth and height on the product page. Not sure it will fit? Call us before ordering and we'll help you check.
